1. Agreeing to these terms
These terms apply to the Discord bot TheUAB and its web dashboard (together, "the service"), run by the people who operate this copy of the bot ("we", "us"). By adding TheUAB to a server, using its commands, or signing in to its dashboard, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the service, and remove the bot from any server you manage.
2. The service
TheUAB offers security, moderation and community features for Discord servers. These include honeypot trap channels, raid protection, warnings, incident reports, a security scanner, levels, an economy, games, tickets, applications and suggestions, plus a dashboard for managing them. Each feature is a "cog" that a server turns on itself. Nothing runs in a server until someone there turns it on.
3. Who can use it
You must be old enough to use Discord where you live, and you must follow Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. If you use the service for a server or group, you confirm that you're allowed to make decisions for it.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the service to harass, threaten, spam, scam or harm anyone, or to break any law or Discord's rules;
- try to break, overload, reverse engineer or get around the service's limits, cooldowns or security, including its dashboard and sign-in;
- exploit bugs, for example to gain economy currency, items or premium you didn't earn or pay for. Tell us about them instead;
- use automated tools or alternate accounts to farm XP, currency or votes, or to dodge moderation;
- pretend to be the bot, its operators or anyone else;
- use the service to collect other people's data without their knowledge or a lawful reason.
Economy currency, XP, pets and other items in the bot are for fun. They have no real-world value and can't be sold or exchanged for money.
5. Server owners and staff
If you add TheUAB to a server or manage it there, you're responsible for:
- which cogs you turn on, how you set them up, and the actions you or your staff take through the bot, such as bans, kicks, timeouts, warnings and quarantines;
- telling your members about features that read or keep their messages or activity, such as honeypot channels, logs, incident reports and analytics, where your server's rules or the law require it;
- who you give access to your server's dashboard;
- checking anything the bot changes on request, like fixes from the security scanner, permission changes or lockdowns.
The bot's suggestions, scores and checks, such as security scores and suspicious-account flags, help you decide. They can be wrong, and don't replace your own judgement.
6. Automatic moderation
Depending on what a server turns on, TheUAB can act on its own: banning, kicking, timing out or quarantining members who post in a honeypot channel, deleting messages with links that aren't allowed, locking a server during a raid, or punishing members who reach a number of warning points. Members who are caught in a honeypot channel may be recorded as known offenders. Other servers using TheUAB can see this record, as described in our Privacy Policy. If you think the bot acted on you by mistake, contact the server's staff first. They control these features and can undo most actions. You can also contact us using the details below.
7. Premium
Some features need premium. Premium is sold as subscriptions or one-time purchases through Discord, and Discord handles payment, billing, renewals and refunds under its own terms. Premium belongs to the person who bought it. They can put it on a set number of servers, depending on their tier, and move it between them. We may also give premium out ourselves, for example as a reward or for testing. Which features need which tier can change. If we stop offering a feature you paid for, we'll try to give you notice, but refunds are handled by Discord's refund policy.
8. Your content
Things you send to or through the bot stay yours. This includes profile fields, AFK messages, suggestions, applications, ticket messages, appeals and settings. You give us permission to store, process and show them as needed to run the features you or your server use. For example, a suggestion is posted in the server's suggestion channel, and a ticket transcript is posted when the ticket closes. You must have the right to share what you send, and it must follow these terms.
9. Discord and other services
TheUAB runs on Discord and depends on it. Some features use other services, such as Twitch for live notifications. We don't control these services, and your use of them is covered by their own terms and privacy policies. We aren't responsible for them, or for problems they cause.
10. Availability and changes
We try to keep TheUAB running, but we don't promise it will always be available, fast or free of bugs. We may add, change or remove features, change limits and cooldowns, or stop the service, at any time and sometimes without notice. We may also put the bot in a private mode where it works only in servers we choose.
11. Suspension and removal
We may stop anyone, or any server, from using the service at any time, especially if they break these terms or put others at risk. This can mean adding them to the bot's blacklist, removing the bot from a server, or ending dashboard access. You can stop using the service at any time by removing TheUAB from your server or by not using its commands. What happens to your data then is explained in our Privacy Policy.
12. No warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. These include warranties that it will be accurate, reliable, secure or fit for a particular purpose. No security tool catches everything. TheUAB reduces risk but can't guarantee your server won't be raided, spammed or compromised.
13. Limitation of liability
As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost data, members, messages, revenue or goodwill, arising from your use of the service or from being unable to use it. This includes actions the bot takes, or doesn't take, under a server's settings. If we are found liable anyway, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for premium in the 12 months before the claim, or nothing if you paid nothing. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we'll try to give notice, for example in the bot's support server. If you keep using the service after a change, you accept the new terms.
15. Contact
For questions about these terms, contact us at the bot's support server.
